IndiGo today has cancelled close to 165 flights to and from multiple Indian airports until 5:29 am on May 10. This development comes in line with directives from the government.

“We're in the process of cancelling all flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Gwalior, Kishangarh, and Rajkot until 0529 hrs on 10th May,” the airline said in a statement on X.

It added, “We are closely monitoring the situation, and further schedule adjustments across other sectors may follow. Rest assured, we'll keep you informed of any developments.”

While advising passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport, IndiGo said, “We understand these are sensitive times, and as always, we are here to support you. Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation.”

Notably, this development comes as airlines operating across the country are cancelling or rerouting flights following Indian armed forces’ missile strikes across terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir under ‘Operation Sindoor’.

IndiGo had earlier issued a travel advisory citing “changing airspace conditions in the region,” affecting flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, and Bikaner. “We request you to check your flight status at https://bit.ly/31paVKQ before reaching the airport,” the airline said in a post on X.

Other airline operators have also taken similar decisions. Air India cancelled all its flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot until 12 noon on May 7. Air India Express cancelled operations, which included Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar, and Hindon, also until midday on May 7.

SpiceJet cancelled operations across northern airports, including Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar.

Akasa Air also cancelled flights to and from Srinagar, saying the airport was currently closed for civilian operations.
